Description & Notes

OPM Is excited to have member Nabanita Dutta host a paint-out at this beautiful, traditional Japanese Garden at Normandale Community College.

This Japanese Garden is built on and around a twenty-acre pond, with the garden showcasing authentic Japanese features. These include a garden wall and traditional entry gate, a waterfall, two shelters, three islands, three lanterns, four bridges, and a Bentendo — a hexagonal structure common throughout Japan and named for Benten, a goddess of wealth, happiness, wisdom, and music.

At Noon, our group will gather to review our painting efforts … to share observations on our morning of painting and seek critiques of our painted creations.

Note: Restrooms are not directly available on-site. Participants should plan accordingly and/or venture into the College for access to facilities.

Registration

Paint-outs are open to all OPM members and their guests. Participants are not required to register, but it's helpful so we can communicate any last minute changes to locations or weather cancellations. Participants may arrive any time during the duration of the paint-out, but keep in mind that painters will migrate to painting locations once the paint-out begins.
