What’s a Paint-Out?

Paint-outs are loosely organized meet-ups around the state, where artists can come together at a pre-determined time and place to make plein air paintings together and visit. Generally, one artist will act as “Host,” welcoming painters and helping them find somewhere to paint on location.

OPM members and community organizations are invited to contact our Paint-Out Director to schedule paint-outs, which are open to all members and their guests.

We try to schedule at locations with accessible parking and access to facilities. Pop-up exhibits and opportunities to sell off-the-easel are occasionally included. Painters are welcoming of visitor questions, and engage in the opportunity to be ambassadors of OPM and of plein air painting.
