Outdoor Painters of Minnesota started as an informal group of artists coordinating paint-outs together in 2002. As others continued to show interest in joining, the group grew and eventually began collecting fees and recruiting new members to be able to expand opportunities and experiences. Articles of Incorporation were filed with the State of Minnesota in 2012, and in 2015, OPM was recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. 

Your $40 annual membership fee is used to coordinate paint-outs and painting trips, painting workshops, organize painting competitions and sponsor prizes, mount exhibits, an annual Art Materials Scholarship, and offer group participation in art fairs and events under OPM's banner.  As we grow, we hope to be able to offer even more exciting painting, educational and travel opportunities.  Join now and bring your ideas, your talents, your friends, and a volunteer spirit!
