Description & Notes
OPM is excited to collaborate with Three Rivers Park District … to host a paint-out at Lowry Nature Center in scenic Carver Park Reserve. The Lowry Nature Center is the oldest public nature center in Minnesota, nestled within 3700 acres of restored prairies, maple-basswood forests, oak savanna, wetlands and lakes. Scenic overlooks abound!
Painters should meet up at the Lowry Nature Center building. Naturalist and OPM member Laurel will provide a brief intro to Carver Park Reserve and provide maps for artists to venture further into the park.
The Nature Center amenities include restrooms, drinking water, hot water for tea or cocoa, and snacks available for purchase. The Nature Center is open from Noon to 5pm and artists are welcome to visit during that timeframe.
The paint-out event is open to park visitors and artists are encourage to chat with interested visitors about plein air painting and are welcome to sell work off their easels.
Registration
Paint-outs are open to all OPM members and their guests. Participants are not required to register, but it's helpful so we can communicate any last minute changes to locations or weather cancellations. Participants may arrive any time during the duration of the paint-out, but keep in mind that painters will migrate to painting locations once the paint-out begins.
