Exhibits of OPM Members’ Paintings

From There to Here
Matt Kania

Dates: December - February
Location: Duluth Pottery Gallery, 1924 W. Superior Street, Duluth, Minnesota 55806

The exhibition From There to Here is an eclectic collection of plein air and studio oil paintings depicting places and moments of personal importance. Matt sees oil painting as a vehicle for telling stories about special places in our immediate world. His paintings are often cited for their uniqueness in subject matter and distinctive representation. As he describes, “The act of direct painting from nature allows me to be more fully engaged in my surrounding environment. Each time I paint, it gives me a greater sense of place – more so than merely observing as a passerby.”
